Honest question: how serious are you with this? I've sort of had guys who I felt "black" for at times (particularly one of my exes) but it wasn't really a serious thing, just something I played around with in my head. I also describe my relationship with one of my best friends as a non-romantic moirallegiance of sorts...but that also doesn't make much sense if you stop to think about it.

I don't think troll concepts of romance are actually healthy applied to human relationships. I hope you're not applying them really seriously, or if you are, maybe you should re-evaluate and work on it.

I feel you anon! 7 wasn't the first season I watched like, but I feel like the fandom got way worse and way more toxic that season :/ (or maybe I just saw more fandom stuff in general that season? idk)

It was almost enough to put me off the show, which sucks cause its a real feel-good show for me.

More like, Mr. Melas solves the case? It is curious that the immediately involved turn out to be arguably more competent than the investigators.

But there is no point. It's the ACD magic. Doyle was big on the "inexplicable fate which settles everything for the best" idea, so I imagine this was his way of asserting it.

I do adore your summary of the story, too, OP. So saving this secret in my SH folders.

Hm... maybe? I don't think so, though. I think he's just the sort of person who wants to make everyone happy and a peace, and does it awkwardly.

I'd see... literally everyone as being on the autism spectrum before Chris, actually! (Okay, not literally, but there's so many characters you could make that argument for. Ron has issues with empathy. April's pseudo-nasty personality is implied to be a cover. Leslie exhibits signs of OCD and tends to fixate on things.*)

*I'm not trying to offend anyone on the spectrum. I KNOW these aren't "surefire" signs. I'm just saying that if we're going to diagnose someone based on generalizations...

I don't... I really don't think that's a remotely good analogy, to be honest. I suppose you could say that they're similar in that they're both far more inflamed and stupid than they need to be, but the same could be said of almost any nerd controversy or argument.
