I went to TVtropes once just to take a look at my fandom. The fic recs for it were mostly crap, I'm guessing fics written by friends of regular users or something like that. They'd missed including some fandom classics that were on a lot of peoples' radar (and favorites list) and their credibility was shot as far as I was concerned.
