Re: Underappreciated Movies
These are technically entries for The Wonderful World of Disney (an anthology series of TV movies, hosted by Michael Eisner, by the time I was watching them in the 80s):
The Richest Cat in the World: A rich old man dies and leaves his estate to his cat. Trouble ensues when the old man's nephew and wife hire a guy to kidnap the cat and the groundskeeper's kids try to rescue him. And the cat can talk. Here's a promo.
Little Spies: A group of kids enlist Mickey Rooney's help to infiltrate a pound and rescue their dog from an evil kennelmaster, and oh my god, the whole thing's on Youtube. I know what I'm watching tonight.

The Last Electric Knight - Sgt Jake Rizzo (Gil Gerard) is chosen by Sabasan as tutor of his grandson Ernie Lee (Ernie Reyes Jr.) the last heir of an antique clan of special martial artists.
I-Man
The B.R.A.T. Patrol - A group of military brats uncovers a plot to steal base equipment.
The Thanksgiving Promise - A teenage boy is torn between his love for an injured Canadian goose that he has found and his agreement to fatten and kill it for an approaching Thanksgiving dinner for his neighbors.
Young Harry Houdini - A biographical movie that depicts the youth of the magician Harry Houdini (1874 - 1926).
Student Exchange - Carole and Neil, two nerdy teenagers, get perfect grades but have no social skills. When Carole learns that two foreign exchange students from France and Italy have gone to another school, they dress up as the exchange students for their last semester. They see a chance for a fresh start to become popular as the Italian Adriano and French Simone.
Rock 'n' Roll Mom - Dyan Cannon plays Annie Hackett, a single mom. A tape of her singing makes it to a record label where Jeff Robins (Michael Brandon) likes what he hears and wants to use her songs for the labels main singer Darcy X. Darcy has a hissy fit and leaves. Jeff drags Annie in to fill in for a rough cut, which Jeff puts into a teaser test with rave reviews of the audiences. Unfortunately, Jeff's boss believes no one is going to buy records of a older woman. So, Jeff builds a fake persona for Annie as "Mystere" and promotes a single release. Success seems assured, except Annie is uncomfortable with the lie and having to hide her children from the public. Darcy's manager sets up a trap to reveal Annie. In disgrace Annie runs home. Jeff follows her with an idea to try to show everyone how talented she really is. She agrees, but only on her terms.
