Re: Cars
I had to drive from Olympia to SeaTac (about 45 minutes) in the middle of a snowstorm that was just starting. People here don't know how to drive in the snow. There were at least three near-misses that I avoided because of the car being able to handle extremely well in inclement conditions, even without snow tires. Otherwise, I probably would've had a totaled car.
So, I fucking love this car and can recommend Honda and Acura (which is basically luxury Honda) without fail because I've had the Acura and a Honda. The Honda got totaled in what was seriously an action movie accident involving literally a flying car. Because of how it handled, my ex was able to slam the brakes and stop in time for the other car to land (completely) on the hood. If it didn't handle that well, the other person in the car would likely be dead, and possibly my ex too.
I've heard good things about Tesla and Prius but they are more expensive. Honda has some reasonably priced vehicles and I am pretty much wedded to them at this point. If I didn't have the option of a Honda, my next consideration would be Volkswagen (because of price), and then a Tesla or Prius (but more expensive).
