Shouldn't really be a secret, OP, that is disturbing. I think media has gotten MAYBE a little better about it but it still awful about portraying rape and abuse as humorous when the victims are male. Hell, even prison rape is treated as a hilarious joke, let alone when women are the rapists/abusers.

Of course, I also don't think it's necessary to compare, both things can be disturbing.

You don't really see much in the rape scene iirc, and it's telegraphed pretty obviously that he's making the whole story up just to piss the old racist dude off.

Where I saw it, people laughed both at the rape scene and her getting punched repeatedly.

You see the guy in full-frontal nudity for a good minute at least, dick and everything.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
It tells me that men don't take rape seriously enough to react to male rape scenes. :^)

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Fuck off.

We all know they're talking about parasites like you.

Hope you know you're a horrible human being.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
you think women were laughing at the rape scene?

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Actually I wouldn't be surprised.

Both genders have the same capacity to be shits.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Women never laugh about rape.

Except when they do. http://i.imgur.com/lyhHISJ.jpg

I was just rolling my eyes at the stupidity and mygodtheedge of that scene.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
But you don't deny it, do you? Men only care about male rape if there are women protesting female rape.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Look at this shitlord. ONLY USING HIS RAPE TO TAKE ATTENTION AWAY FROM PROUD WOMYN!

Just FYI he's a feminist.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I don't believe you can correctly make a statement like that about men as a whole. Just like women. They aren't a damn hive mind.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Of course you can. OP can say that all women are vile cunts who don't REALLY care about rape, else they'd solve all of men's problems for them first; and I can say that men don't really care about the issue in the first place.

Yeah, I've only see MRA bring up male rape whenever female rape is brought up first, and it's usually just to derail the conversation.
The only people I've seen actually raise awareness about it are femanists ironically lmao.

No, but the more mundane stuff doesn't draw as much wank.

I mean, I managed to travel solo today without a safety freak out, so progress from a year ago when inexplicable hyper-vigilance made this sort of thing really uncomfortable. Meanwhile, I lost touch with my therapist due to his heart surgery, and the med doc still has not worked out the billing issues with the new address. But that's not the day to day survivor's reality that makes for good political football for y'all.

Pretty sure the people laughing at the rape scene would be the same people laughing at the woman getting beat up or cheering when she gets hung.

What movie is this?

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
I really wish people would label their secrets when it's not obvious what the fandom is. :\

It's The Hateful Eight

AYRT

Thank you.

That's the new Tarantino film, right? Nice to know he's still doing his thing.

DA

It is. It's pretty great.

OP

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry thought I tagged it.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-13 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
I generally found the complaints about Daisy getting punched etc. ridiculous. She's absolutely awful and she's treated exactly the way an awful male villain would have been treated. I much prefer this to awful female villains getting the, "but she's a woman, you can't hit her!" treatment.

That and the entire point of the movie is that all these people are horrible pieces of shit who treat each other horribly. It's even in the title.
