I never made it beyond the first season of this show because absolutely every character, minus a few kids, was fucking awful. I don't get it but I suppose people pick their favorites among a cast of terrible people, but I don't think I could handle a fandom in a show like this even if I enjoyed the show, which I decidedly did not. The character in question seriously disturbed me, I can't wrap my head around why anyone would give someone like that the hero treatment.

Really? I would say 80% of the characters are decent or at least try to be decent. The Starks at minimum are all good people, I think Tyrion tries to be good, etc.

Same. It's a shame because the plot and world absolutely seem like something I'd like, but I couldn't really latch onto many of the characters. There were decent ones, but it's harder to stay invested when they seem like a lone bright spot in a sea of terrible people.
