I got to the fourth ep, I think, then went straight back to the first, googled every character and all the lingo, and watched it all over again. Three times, actually, before I had the full grasp of who's who and what the hell is going on. I don't think it's something to be ashamed of - a lot of people I've talked to about the show did the very same, since it's pretty much impossible to get into GK without doing research and rewatching it several times. So, go for it, definitely.
