There've been some TV shows I couldn't possibly hope to keep track of - it took ages for me to get all the names straight for some TV series with large casts of characters.

In fact True Blood kind of repelled me because it introduced way too many people from the get-go. Teen Wolf was smarter about it: Scott and Stiles get sole focus for several minutes in the pilot so I had a chance to see some of the worldbuilding before introducing Characters A, B, C etc on to J.
