Re: Controversial (Non-Fandom) Confessions

I own a few designer things, but they're almost never new; the thing about designer clothes is even though they're supposed to be better quality (and some actually are), people who buy them new often don't keep them long; they want the next season's clothes, not the outdated stuff from two years ago. I've got a couple of pairs of Peter Fox boots that I get resoled occasionally; I paid ≈ $100 for one pair that retailed for $585, and have had them for a decade, and expect them to last at least another. And an Alexander McQueen skirt that's really good quality; it's a lot sturdier than most of my clothes, which I wear until they end up in the rag heap. Between ebay and thrift stores, it's not impossible to own nice things and be poor at the same time. I'm not on welfare, but I'm sure some people that are buy their quality stuff the same way I do.
