So, impromptu stream, but I'm sick this weekend so I wouldn't have been doing anything else anyway. Since this is last minute, I still haven't quite decided between two "themes"...

OPTION A - BOLLYWOOD NIGHT #3 (AMERICA EDITION)

My Name is Khan - aka the trials and tribulations of Muslim profiling in America post-9/11. Sikhs and Hindus get attacked too. It's not cool.


Dostana - aka the movie that I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry wished it could be. Two dudes pretend to be in a relationship with each other to score cheap rent sharing with a girl off craigslist. Relationship quadrangles happen and shit gets real.

OPTION B - RANDOM STUFF

Balto - I just really liked this movie as a kid. And it has good music. Outcast half-dog, half-wolf brings medicine to sick kids in Nome, Alaska.


The Polar Bear King - I also really liked this movie as a kid. And I bet 99.9% of people have never heard of it. Eros/Psyche myth, but in fantasy Scandinavia. Woman marries a cursed king/polar bear, later has to go on a epic quest and fight an evil witch and shit to save him.


Beyond the Lights - I've never seen this movie, but I asked for recs and caecilia recced it, so yeah. I trust her taste. It will be a new journey for all of us.

I'm sorry to hear that you're sick. I've missed seeing you around the comm.

I watched The Polar Bear King for a class my freshman year of college. I wasn't wild about it, but it was fun.

Also, I'd love to hear what you think of Beyond the Lights. I saw it on a plane this summer. I liked it, but I didn't love it like I had expected to.
