Inspired by #3

What characters would you most want to see gender-swapped versions of? Whether in fan work, or some kind of remake or adaptation, or what have you. Bonus points for gender-swapped fancastings.

Riker in TNG

Crowley and Aziraphale in Good Omens but since angels are technically sexless I guess I'd just want to see them present as female. Or be played by female actors.

Supernatural would be interesting. Especially the early seasons.

Back in college I was watching "Supernatural" and this medicore CBS show, "A Gifted Man" regularly, which led to me fancasting Margo Martindale as lady!Bobby Singer. Obviously still an idea I've held onto, so +1.

Was that the one with Patrick Wilson? My parents used to watch that before it was canceled. I didn't hate what I saw of it.

Also, I love Margo Martindale. I'm not one for SPN really, but I approve of this choice.

AYRT - Yep, that was the one! I liked it (and Patrick Wilson, yowza) enough to watch on a weekly basis, but I wasn't crushed when it got cancelled.

I keep meaning to make a secret about it, but uh... Oops.

I know that there are probably some reasons why this isn't a good idea (vocal range, etc.) but I'm interested in seeing a gender-swapped version of Les Miserables, and Jekyll and Hyde.

I know that the Harazuka review exists, that's not what I'm talking about - I'm not speaking about an all girl version, I mean Jeanne Valjean, running from female!Javert while adopting male!Cosette, who grows up to be an ingenue who falls in love with Marie Pontmercy, part of an all girl revolutionary gang.

...Do you mean the Takarazuka Revue?

I'm always gonna say I want a lady Doctor. Every regeneration is different, but at the core you always have that quirky, eccentric Doctor and I think there are some great women who could play that part (But I don't know a lot of British actresses so I don't have one off the top of my head).

Pulp Fiction. I was actually imagining a gender swapped "Jules and Vincent retrieve the mysterious briefcase" scene at brunch this afternoon. And wondering who Ms. Wolfe would be played by: Jane Fonda? Susan Sarandon? Pam Grier?

None. I hate this trend. I'd rather add ladies.

I'm a fan of fem!Bilbo and fem!Steve in fanfic for some reason, can't explain it but it hits buttons. And it's not in preference to their respective slash ships because I love those too, I just enjoy the change? Idk.

But generally I could dig any character genderswapped just for it to be different, I'm really not picky about that.

I know the entire Transformers fandom is going to scream blasphemy at me and I don't care: STARSCREAM. FEMME. STARSCREAM. NEEDS. TO. HAPPEN.

Give me girl!Starscream and girl!Megatron and I'm sold.

I'd say villains most often because I find female villains interesting. Female Mairon or female Melkor could be really interesting. Or a female Thanos (bonus points that this would mean femslash) and Ronan. A female Kylo Ren or Vader or even Emperor. Basically villains genderswapped is what I'd most want to see.
