Just wanted to say thanks for this comment, I found it really interesting and informative. I know next to nothing about anime (literally, I don't even know if "anime" is still the going term), but I've always kind of got the impression that seme/uke is...similar to and yet not really the same as the sort of dom/sub and top/bottom dynamics that are common in Western fandoms. The way the two compare is something I've always wanted to understand better, and I feel like your comment shed some light on the subject. :)
