Hey now, RWBY's visuals have greatly improved since they actually defined some of the facial features like noses and mouths!

(I had a hard time seeing anything other than EYES in s1)

Japanese 3D shows cut frames from the animation to better imitate the flow of 2D animation and that sounds small but I think that does a LOT to turn people off. It looks like shit.

RWBY looks like shit... but adjusted for expectations.

mte. RWBY looks terrible, but somehow it's a terribleness that I can tolerate. But I have never been able to watch any Japanese animesque 3D. I've tried, but my limit so far has been 15 minutes before I nope out.
I can't really explain why this is. It doesn't make sense to me.

I personally grade it on the curve based on it's made with Poser, which is like... wow, it's amazing they managed to make an animation with it at all.

Plus the sexualisation of underage child characters is super fucking gross in RWBY.

I actually like CG animation in Nobunaga Concerto a lot! It looks very interesting and doesn't give me headache like other CG animation used to.

RWBY is honestly awful. Most fans I notice are really just RT fans who think ROOSTERTEETH CAN DO NO WRONG!!! And freak out if you criticize the show for being a cliched mess of anime tropes.

The writers were literally told to watch the worst possible anime (Naruto, Bleach, Sword Art Online, etc) as research and based the show on that.

I don't know. I prefer the consistent low quality full 3D of RWBY over the mixed media style of Nobunaga Concerto.

Something like Nobunaga Concerto was never going to be popular among anime fans, even if the animation were absolutely amazing.
