Yawn. There are 20 billion posts on Tumblr like that, and anyone who thinks that's a real problem with YA is either only reading those posts and other derivative articles about YA from people who don't read much of it, or hasn't looked very hard at a real bookshelf. I read almost all YA and I have no problem finding books that aren't like that. I don't get why it seems so hard for y'all...

Hey now, RWBY's visuals have greatly improved since they actually defined some of the facial features like noses and mouths!

(I had a hard time seeing anything other than EYES in s1)

(So we're clear, this comment is more in response to the screencapped tumblr post than it is to the secret.)

I've mostly seen "doesn't read" in the context of "missed the point."

I have a friend who is an incredibly smart person. However, she likes arguing on facebook more than she likes reading, and has attacked me for "saying" things I never actually said. So in that sense? She doesn't read.

There's also a difference between a learning disability or otherwise struggling to read and being willfully uninformed. You don't even have to like to read fiction; but it saddens me when people won't even read a newspaper article.
