I don't think that was the idea, though. If you look back at shows like Police Squad (as the secret mentions) and the Naked Gun movies, that's what Angie Tribeca is trying to do. Whether or not they're doing a good job of it is another issue, but there's no question that those shows are their main influence, not Brooklyn Nine Nine.
