I admit I'm really defensive about this movie, but that's because it's such an important movie for me. Is it shakespeare? No. Is it even as good as the original 3? Meh, maybe. But what it is, is the point at which we take scifi away from the men. We're sick of being relegated to fantasy and *ugh* urban fantasy. We deserve scifi and this is the movie, the big mainstream movie, the pinnacle of dude-bro male centered scifi, and we get to have it, not them. So yeah, maybe it's not a great film, but it was theirs and now it's ours and I want them to see how much we're enjoying it.

Speaking for myself, I enjoyed the film, because I enjoyed the film. I don't see why an us/them dynamic has to come into it, but whatever floats your boat.
