Face Off doesn't really have that much drama though, does it? It's got a pretty friendly environment.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-14 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah the drama is usually more of the "will they finish in time? will it look good?" variety than of the backstabbing or shit-talking variety.

True! They definitely do the whole, "OH NO I SCREWED UP SOMETHING BIG AND THE MAKE-UP IS RUINED FOREVER [immediate cut to commercial break]" then once it's back they come up with a fix right away and it wasn't a big deal after all, lmao.

First season tried really hard to have some, but later seasons pretty much dropped it when they realized SFX makeup artists are, apparently, professional as hell and prefer cooperation to petty vendettas.

I'm not sure what the word would be. It's not furry, because they don't literally look like animals... just, highly made up and costumed? Since their body shapes are VERY fit in Cirque du Soleil shows, and they are master acrobats in skin-tight costumes, and sill have human faces, I don't think it's weird that you find it erotic.

Wait, are we not supposed to be aroused by that stuff?

I don't know if there's a name for it but it hardly seems that deviant OP, don't stress it. Like what you like.

As I've always thought Cirque derived itself from the higher class burlesque shows, this doesn't surprise me at all.

lol you innocent thing. Thinking makeup and costumes are deviant.

Ahhh, to be so young again.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-14 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I like this sort of thing too OP!
And i'm sure you could find a parnter willing to dress like that for you
even if i wasn't into it if my husband was like "dress like a space elf"
I'd be like "okay cool so craft store or should we order stuff online?"

(Anonymous) 2016-02-15 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
As much as I enjoy Cirque, I can't say it's ever aroused me. Even Zumanity. But if that's your thing, that's cool anon.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-15 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
I adored Zumanity so much because it was saying, "See? This stuff is SEXY! It's okay to watch this stuff and get aroused, we're being BLATANT about it!"

People are being kind of condescending in this thread, hey? Like, I don't think you have anything to be embarrassed about with this kink, OP, but at the same time I definitely understand why you feel uncomfortable talking about it.

I feel similar about some of my biggest kinks, which don't have names and are hard to even describe. Like, I'm not embarrassed about my come play kink, or my knotting kink, even though those kinks are fairly filthy, because they have names and somehow they just feel more normal and valid. But then I have other kinks that just feel weirder or more embarrassing somehow, because they haven't been normalized.

Personally, I would like to nominate the term Xenophilia to describe your particular kink. In fact, Xenophilia may be, objectively, the correct term to describe it. Though I suppose it could be misleading; some people might think it means you have a kink for foreigners.

A couple of people are being kind of condescending, I should have said. Didn't mean to imply everyone was being.
