This can be a very hot (pardon the pun) topic and I am sure that I am going to piss some people off. I am not sure why we are treating the view of another person as "hot" to only one side of the gender pool here. This is not a one side thing. I do agree that it is okay to be attracted to someone especially if they are dressing that way. When someone (either gender) is dressing attractively in scantly clothes, they do expect people to be looking at them. It is okay to look and respect, but unlike many men do, you should not objectify them. They are more than their looks and are people who should be treated like people. That being said, this is not only something that men do. Women objective and think men are hot as well. It is the level on which that thought is acted upon. Many men will go over board well beyond cat calling and acting like a buffoon over this attraction to the person and start thinking the other person is owned by them or believe they are owed something due to the way the other person is dressing to be attractive. Women also do look at men though sexual eyes and fantasy. If you don't believe me, just look at the covers of all those romance books that are targeted to women. Men like Fabio are on the covers of these books solely for the gaze and fantasy of women, just like other publications for men. And there is a lot of literature for women that objectify men as well. I am still baffled on how popular 50 shades of grey has gotten. But that is pretty much the same reason that Penthouse is popular. We all view others with a lens of sexual attraction at times. The problem comes when that becomes acted upon. Men tend to have more direct creepy behavior and that is where the problem comes in. Men sometimes treat women lesser because of this and many other reasons. Women do not have this overt creepy behavior most of the time. Unless it is at a strip joint but that is a different environment. Please stop thinking that objectification only comes from the male side of things. That is definitely not true. It is okay to look and compliment but do not stare and ogle. That is when things start becoming problematic. And like previously mentioned, don't think you are owed anything or have any control over this person. They are a person more than their looks and they are an individual with their own personality that needs to be respected. If you start objectifying the person and only can think about the sexuality perspective, than there starts to be a problem and you need to probably talk to someone with that. And definitely do not touch or otherwise assault them. If you do that you deserve to be in jail unless that is what the other person has explicitly stated that is what they want.
