Oh god, that's hilarious but I can't tell if they're serious or trolling...

I know, right?

I would assume that comment is a joke (or maybe you knew that and still found it funny).

It's so strange to me to me how angry some people (not the OP) can get over ignorance about music and artists (like people who get seriously angry or shocked when someone is unfamiliar with some classic musician. Or get angry with kids/teens for not knowing someone who was popular years ago). And it can lead to some hilarious trolling opportunities.

It's definitely strange. People seem to take it so personally, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If someone is unfamiliar with an artist you think is seminal, then isn't that just a great opportunity to introduce someone to something awesome?

A friend years ago as a teen he had a t-shirt. A plain t-shirt, with the text "I hate the bands you like." on it. You would think at most that would get an eyeroll at the edgy on purpose nature, right? (It was a Red vs. Blue quote.)

Nope, he'd get people who'd come up with him and try to start arguments about how he didn't even know what bands they liked! How dare he make a statement like that! They had excellent music taste and his must be shit!

Bless him, he wore it just to troll those people.

That's great.

Am I the only one who thinks they probably were saying, they wished he'd made more music THAN HE DID? Like, wish there was more music by him to enjoy, something they hadn't heard yet?

I've done that. Recently bought everything ever recorded by my favorite singer and wish there was more. *shrugs*
