Honestly? Issue fic. 99% of it is poorly written OOC preaching and it can really annoy me (especially when it's clear the author doesn't know shit about what they're talking about) but at the same time I get where it's coming from. It sucks not seeing yourself represented in media and fanfic gives you the chance to rectify that and use your favorite characters to explore things that pertain to you. I can't get mad at (for lack of a better word) over representation in fanfic when there's such underrepresentation in mainstream media.
