I admit I have a very, very visceral reaction to this ship. Mostly because I relate quite a bit to Hermione. And the idea of ever being paired with someone who treats me the way Snape treated Hermione horrifies me. I had teachers like that. Hermione and Neville got it worse even than Harry did, and there isn't the excuse of Snape's feelings towards James (which isn't an excuse considering Harry was a child, but it is at least understandable in a way his treatment of Neville and Hermione isn't).

And right here, that's the reason why I hate Neville fans. Seriously, you actually think Hermione and Neville got it worse than Harry?! I don't even like Harry whereas Hermione is one of my favorite characters but I still think you're full of shit.

Oh, and before somebody accuses me of shipping Snape and Hermione, I strongly dislike the idea of them together because they have nothing in common (and Hermione deserves way better). Well, that and I kind of ship Snarry.

Yes, I do think Neville was bullied by Snape worse than Harry, especially considering Neville was clearly a very vulnerable student who would not handle it as well as Harry could. Snape treated all three of them horribly. But I do think Neville got the worst of it.

And another factor for me is the content of what the insults were. Snape's targeting of Harry was mostly based either around his father or his celebrity status. Snape's targeting of Hermione was about her schoolwork or her appearance. He, a teacher, actually called her a know it all and also commented on her teeth. And with Neville, it was all about pushing at a clearly vulnerable child and rather than actually trying to help him learn, openly mocking him to other students.

Never really paid attention to this before, yikes, he really was the perfect bully, knew exactly which weaknesses to strike.

Well, that's a damn silly reason to hate Neville fans. Since Harry is quite a bit sturdier than Neville and certainly more self-confident, yes, Neville has it worse in Snape's class: I don't remember Snape ever reducing Harry to tears. At least Snape never tried to wrong-foot Harry with a new instructor, in front of his classmates, with a speech about how incompetent he is. Snape has the true bully's knack of singling out the most fragile person in a group to be the butt of his wit.

Right? With Harry it was frustrating because he was usually so wrong about his intentions and feelings, but with Neville he went right for the emotional jugular.

Nah, he just did that for Harry with the Minister of Magic, and in front of two Headmasters from different schools. That's all. /eyeroll

...

I kind of ship Snarry

If that's your usual line of thinking, no wonder you have such a stupid and bizarre reason for hating Neville fans of all people.
