Princess Mononoke, I love me some giant talking animals.

Same, because it's one of those strange movies that capture your childhood even if it's not *your* childhood.

Spirited Away had the best atmosphere, I think, though the plot itself is kind of weird and it trails off at its "climax" and only becomes interesting again in the last two minutes when she goes back to the human world.

Princess Mononoke has the best plot, but it's also really "heavy" and I can't watch it often. It's not as fun, but objectively I feel it's probably the strongest in terms of plot/themes.

Honorable mention: Howl's Moving Castle, for being a good mix of great art style, fantasy story and coherent plot that's both fun and serious (at times)

Spirited Away. It was the first Miyazaki film I'd seen and it still blows me away with its beauty.

Spirited Away, hands down. Ponyo comes in second.

It's a toss up between Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service. I really identified with Chihiro when I was a kid. I still have my old VHS copy that my best friend gave me for my ninth birthday. Kiki's Delivery Service makes me feel all warm and safe when I watch it.

Kiki's Delivery Service.

Though I also have a weakness for Spirited Away since that was the first one mom and I watched together.

Porco Rosso.

It's not the best plotted of his movies, but I have so much fun watching it. The scene with Porco's plane slowly rising above the clouds and seeing the dead pilots fly overhead is one of the most eeriely beautiful things Miyazaki has ever created.

Spirited Away is one of my top favorite movies, period, but Princess Mononoke is a close second as far as Miyazaki movies go.

Spirited Away with Nausicaä a close second.

Nausicaä holds a special place in my heart because I found it in a video store in the 80s (I now suspect it could have been the bad edit that America did) and loved it. Watching it again after buying the DVD a few years ago did not change my fondness for it.

I need to watch Nausicaa again. I love the manga, but don't remember the movie very well. Just that the visuals were lovely and the story was the first fourth of the manga altered into a self-contained story.

I once read a summary of the rest of the manga on Wikipedia, and it's a bit of a pity it wasn't made into an anime.
