I guess you're right. It's just not very often that women are described as homosexual, so it seems like a masculine term.

DA the 'homo' part means 'the same', where as 'hetero' means different. Hence homosexual refers to people who are attracted to their own gender, as opposed to heterosexuals who are attracted to the opposite gender. So homosexual is a gender neutral term that can refer to both men and women, OP. :)

It is technically the same, but I know where you're coming from as a lesbian - if someone says homosexual or homoerotic they tend to think exclusively of men. Male bias, alas.
