That is sort of cute, and honestly, I hate how it's sort of popular to hate on them. They make some catchy songs, they're a fun boyband. Nah, they're not super-innovative songwriters, but not everyone needs to be.

It's really difficult to talk about those sort of subjects haha. People usually either get preachy or angst about how hard it is. Not that those things don't have their place, but imo that emphasizes their status as a minority and focuses less on them as a person.

That said this looks pretty dang cute.

This is my OTP, the one pairing I ALWAYS go back to. No matter what fandoms I'm in or what kind of fic I've been reading, Gaalee is always the one thing that never fails to make me happy.
S!B: This is a crack pairing. With like 4 1/2 good fics. For a terrible fandom I loved as a stupid teenager. That I abandoned 7 years ago.

I hope the Jedi are still chaste in canon. I really like the whole idea of “Phenomenal Cosmic Power, Itty Bitty Living Space” You can use the light side of the Force, or you can have sex and romance. You can’t have both. It’s just way too Mary Sue to throw the entire code out. Sure, drink, screw, gamble, kill whoever, as long as you’re a Good Person it doesn’t matter. Anakin was a Bad Person, that’s why loving Shimi and Padme made him fall. But everyone else can do whatever, no rules and no consequences. Unlimited Power! No drawbacks! No sacrifice!
Secret because, have you seen fandom? Mara Jade needs to be canon and have Luke’s babies. Obi-Wan and Satine having babies together needs to be canon. Kanan and Hera need to be canon and have babies together. Ezra and Leia need to have sex and also he needs to be Ben’s real dad. Fandom can do whatever it wants, I’d never want people to stop shipping in fanon. But keep the canon flaws. I’m hoping them casting another female lead in VIII means she’ll be the love interest and Rey is going to be a Jedi. Also, I do not think Rey is a Mary Sue! I just can’t think of a better term for a character getting to have their cake and eat it too.

There's a writer in my fandom who's decided to sell her fanfics on Kindle.

She's changing the names of the characters only for copyright reasons and assures people that it'll always remain Pairing A/Pairing B at heart. She’s already removed all of these fics from AO3, most of which were unfinished.

I'd like to think I'm a well read person, I find her writing basic, barely average at best, but problematic as hell. (Various trigger subjects frequently written with no context/care at all.) Needless to say, a lot is left to be desired. But because she's prolific, she always gets a steady stream of comments and followers. (Quantity over Quality is starting to sound pretty mainstream here.)

I don't know what makes my eyes roll more, all of her self gratifying posts about ‘getting published’, her delusions of grandeur, or that she's so driven to make money (and a name) off of something that is anything but original. She wants to be a serious writer guys!

I'm all for the spirit of fandom but this really rubs me up the wrong way.
