Inside fandom?

Young is below 18 - still in school.
Far too young is below 14.

Anything from 20-50 is just a random adult.

Old is over 60.

I will note: I am 37, a couple of months off 38. I once thought a lot of Fandom was older than me, when I was still in my early 20s, now I think most of Fandom is younger.

I'm a few months from 49, so I know that most of fandom is younger than me. But if you'd asked me what 'old' was when I was in my 20s, I would have thought that 50 was ancient. I just like that in most fandoms I've encountered, there isn't rampant ageism. I love to see where fandom has been and where it's going.

I think my view on "old" is influenced by common labels on age. Even back at 20, "Old" didn't start until 60, though I looked at 50 as to older side of middle-aged.

I think Fandom skews a bit younger simply because a lot of adults get busy with college, work, marriage and children and those all cut down the time they can spend online.
