2. ...Wait, people actually turn down music because the people making it are *ugly*? Why should that matter?

8. It'll only traumatize them if they're exposed to the fandom too early. Wait until they're in their teens, then give them the book/game/show/whatever-it-is and let them figure it out on their own. :D (At least, that's my plan. Plus I've made sure the names are *actual* names, which may help.)

11. While I agree that the concept itself is rather pointless...how on earth would I get new music without them?

14. I've had that happen. Then one of my non-fandom-initiated friends started pointing out similarities, and it got that much more awesome.
