Practically never, but whenever I have a very vivid dream, the feeling it gives me tends to stay for a whole day. It's not so bad when it's a nice dream, but when it's weird or surreal, it can be disorienting.

I think if you have nightmares, even if you're not sure if it's abnormal, you should try to get help if you feel like you could do with it. Maybe try talking to someone about them if you're not sure about talking to a professional immediately?

(ayrt) I've mentioned it to my girlfriend and she seems to think I have a lot, and sometimes it will disrupt my sleep pattern, which is why I'm asking for comparison? Idk though, I don't even know how one would bring up "I have a lot of nightmares" to someone for advice without sounding stupid. :/

It's not stupid at all, anon! Lots of people look for professional advice or go to therapists for nightmares. It can be just as serious a problem as anything else, especially if they're disturbing your sleep.
