Romance novels
also the title of one of my recent oneshotsCan I have recs for good romance novels? Those that aren't a cliché storm, with proper developed characters and maybe even a plot. I don't mind how mushy it gets either, as long as it's there for a reason and not just for the feels. Preferably with no porn, but that might not be a realistic request. I really don't want anything that has themes of serious issues though, like racism or homophobia. Interracial or homosexual romances are fine as long as the plot itself isn't heavy on those real-life issues.

Re: Romance novels
(Anonymous) 2016-02-22 01:38 am (UTC)(link)I also recently read In Too Deep, by Tracey Alvarez, and liked it quite a bit. It's a small town romance, but a small town romance set in New Zealand, which was pretty novel (yuk yuk) to me. There is some tragic family history stuff in it that got me all misty, but no issue issues. I think it's still free for Kindle, too, which was awesome.
Hmm...I can kind of rec Zoe York's Love in a Small Town? It's about a divorced couple getting back together again. I remember sometimes being annoyed by the leads and sometimes getting all WAFFy over them. I read the book with the better part of a bottle of wine one night, so I don't know how it will hold up, but I certainly liked it well enough that I'm going to give it a try sober one day. I don't know if it's still free, but it was when I came upon it.
Sorry if none of these looks good to you, but maybe they'll be a place to start!
