I suppose if the author had it on their 'about me' page on fanfiction net or Tumblr or whatever

My question, what happens when you read most of an authors fics just for them to come out as asexual later? Do you just cut yourself off cold turkey, never mention them and deny ever reading them in the first place? Or are they a special case?
