It seems to be hugely influenced by DBZ and other anime, so I kind of knew going in that a lot of villains were going to be redeemed. Besides Goku was anyone in DBZ NOT originally a villain? Probably the closest was Krillin, and he was a rival. Or, you know, the kids of the main characters might count.

Plus the whole episode with the centipedle was pretty much forshadowing that Steven's biggest strength and the whole point of the show is that he brings out the best in others.
