OP, I think your opinion on this whole issue is silly and illogical. But putting that aside, lets also just acknowledge that not all ace people are disinterested in smut.

Personally, I'm very interested in smut. I absolutely love it. I'm not interested in having anyone touch me in a sexual way, ever, but I'm extremely interested in reading/writing about my OTP touching each other in...well, just about all the sexual ways. That's just where my sexuality, such as it is, happens to be at.

So if fanfic called for me to write the most realistic smut possible, I agree that I would be at something of a disadvantage, due to lack of experience. But since idealized sex is pretty much the norm for smutty fanfic, I don't particularly feel I'm at a disadvantage. In fact, I would consider someone who didn't read much smut, or who only enjoyed a very narrow type of smut, to be at considerably more of a disadvantage than I am. (Not that I'm saying you have to love smut to be a good smut writer, or that loving smut guarantees you'll be a good smut writer. It's sure not going to hurt your odds, though.)
