Gambit and Rogue especially were who I was thinking of, it was so bad and I can't believe no one questioned it. I mean I guess it was to obviously show they had accents but before I saw the cartoons I legit did not know what accent Rogue was supposed to have.

panel of Sam Guthrie shown writing a letter (to his family iirc correctly) and the letter itself was written out phonetically.

Part of me died inside reading this.
