Re: Pet Peeves
(Anonymous) 2016-02-24 09:21 am (UTC)(link)Is it actually canon that it was a gambit, though? Because when you come to think of it, rats can climb vertical walls, jump a yard, reach a foot, swim half a mile, squeeze through a hole the size of a dime, and chew through almost anything. The creatures practically have superpowers. And who can hide in plain sight like a rat? Peter did it for twelve years! TBH, I suspect that the Marauders learned early to value and make use of Peter's ratty abilities, and he would have made the ideal Secret-Keeper if it weren't for the tiny little hitch that he was already working for Voldemort.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-24 10:14 am (UTC)(link)I definitely agree that that made use of Peter's ratty abilities. Overall a rat is a way more convenient Animagus form than a stag for instance! A stag can't really help you with pranking, after all.
