Though I don't know how you'd be able to tell if a fic writer was deliberately withholding porn unless they stated so themselves. Otherwise I'd figure that they either don't write porn or didn't want that particular story to be explicit, neither of which is unreasonable at all.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-25 04:38 am (UTC)(link)Not gonna get into this thread but yeah, I've personally seen authors who do this weird "teasing" thing like they'll mention all the porn they write and leave in their "fic drawer" (it took me a little while to get that they're just talking about a folder or space on their computer they keep their original stuff OTL) and when their fans perk up and go "are you going to share it? We love your writing!" they get...mad?? I dunno, it's weird, and I've only seen it with a handful of authors so it's not like this giant FANDOM CONSPIRACY or anything but yeah, there are people out there who do that. To be fair I think big fans of authors would want to read ANY fics they have hanging out in their "fic drawer" and it's not predicated upon it being porn necessarily, but that was an issue with a couple of them.

I've not seen that behaviour myself but I would find it confusing, most authors I've seen who do the 'so hey I write porn sometimes' are using it as a gauge to see how many of their readers would be interested in reading it.
Putting that out there and then getting mad at any interest is just silly imo.
