I'm finding that I have to drop my standards. If a fic has a great plot and nice characterisation, it's usually riddled with spelling errors. (Like the last one I read. I powered through because the story was good but "alright" annoys the crap out of me.) If there are few spelling errors and the plot is good, the characters are OOC. Fuck you, venn diagrams.
