Yeah, her comics are pretty one note, but her people have good variety without feeling tryhard about it. Can't say that about a lot artists on tumblr, unfortunately.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
what the hell is tryhard variety?

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
people on tumblr who draw grotesque abominations in the guise of being "inclusive"

see: a tumblr fanart of a lumpy overweight woman with vitiligo, freckles, moles, stretchmarks, a double chin, and massive tree trunk legs all at once

Because real people don't have freckles, moles, stretchmarks, or thick legs, am I right?

I would think it's deliberately making a cast that is all about ~showing diversity~/made up of tokens and wanting recognition/praise for that. Rather than simply having a diverse cast that are characters first rather than ticking boxes for representation.

Basically don't be this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lxtes3LyCOU/SA5GCSqbm2I/AAAAAAAAAAM/N69vaZI0JuM/s320/BKkidsclubgang.png

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
So you're a socially regressive asshole, yes?

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Accuse people of harboring anti-revolutionary sentiment! That's never gone wrong before!

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
I don't get this. what are you talking about?

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
One of multiple historical precedents for how ugly enforcing ideological purity can get. Thanks for confirming that you don't know why your actions are toxic.

I read a comic of theirs today

a man got up because his (?) baby was crying and wondered why people put up with the strain of raising kids. then the baby squeaks.

placated he picks the baby up and tells them theyre going to watch tv now.

it's its own kind of sappy hellscape where watching tv with a baby counts as happy ending quality time

I love everything about plebcomics. She restores my faith in liberalism.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, it's okay I guess. I've seen worse.
She has a real shitty personality though, so it kinda taints it for me.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I really like plebcomics.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
That's how comics should be. Distinctive characters, I mean. I'm not a big fan of hers myself, but that is a good quality for an artist to have.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
My secret is I actually like her. I don't think she gets it right all the time, and siding with GG probably wasn't the best idea of hers, though it's kind of common for people who have been wrongly dogpiled to head over there and to the anti-SJW side of tumblr. I can think of other people who got raked over the coals when they did nothing wrong who end up straight into the equalist/anti-feminism but proequality sort of blogs.

She's a bit of an edgelord, but she's often got a point. Many of the SJ bloggers in tumblr go waaay too far and take all really valid criticism of things like "Hey could you maybe not stalk these people shipping a fictional relationship and force them to reveal whether they're a survivor using it to cope" or all those lovely tumblr things. Most of the comics are spot on to the bullshit tumblr pulls.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
I think she does occasionally have a point too, but she's SUCH a rude ass about it, it discredits any good intentions or meaning she may of been trying to make.
If she wasn't so mean spirted, she wouldn't be nearly as infamous.

Also, doxxing yourself and getting butthurt when people take advantage of it is really really stupid.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-26 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
+1

she's her own point's worst enemy
