We started out as friends, and became something more as my wife and I split. Been together for a couple of years now, and still seem to be going strong. It helps that her parents like me and think very highly of how I treat her.

I think in cases like yours, if your relationship is solid and you're both happy to be with each other, then people will recognize that pretty quickly as they're getting to know you both, and whatever thoughts they may have initially had about your age difference will fade into the background.

There's nothing wrong with contemplating things that are none of our business. What's shitty is when people decide to believe certain things about others, and then act like their opinions have more bearing on reality than what those people express about themselves.

Pretty much( tho he was 37, and a bachelor) me and my husband when we met. Married now nearly 31 years. All the best to you both.
