To be fair, it's not that easy. While yes, the begging and guilt-tripping is reprehensible, if they're truly mentally ill, it might not be that easy to get (or keep) a job. Depending on where they live, not having a job might make therapy unaffordable.

And applying for disability is really hard. I've seen the process up close with my grandmother, who was legally blind, but still had to jump through hoops for over half a year to get it.
