Ooo, how did your test drive go? You decide what wheelchair you want? (I know you said you were having difficulty getting one, but I assume you testing one is a good sign?)

It was really awesome! I haven't picked a chair yet. I still have another rep coming to show me different brands, but it was fun to try these ones.

The reps are able to come out and show me, but to get funding, the process takes a lot longer than if you can just order something. I'm trying to work out if I can afford maybe the chair and then get funding for the power assistance device or something so I could get it sooner, but it takes at least 6-9 months after application was what the OT was saying, but possibly over a year.

I tried the Batec electric handbike. It's a big wheel with a motor (looks a bit like half a dirt bike) and you can just drive yourself around and not push at all. It was really great. It can go on grass and over bumps and stuff without slowing down and I was able to go down to the end of the block and back on my own, which I can't do in the crappy chair I have now. I love it. Definitely going on my wishlist. I think that might be my number 1 pick for now, but maybe with a Tilite chair. I'm trying them in a couple of weeks, so we'll see. I nearly ran off with this thing though. I didn't want to give it back!
I'm going to talk to the rep about booking in a longer trial period so I can have it at home and use it. I think my OT likes it, too. She was pretty shocked at how happy I looked after using it. I guess I've had a moping face and just not been aware of it until now. Oops?

I still think it's a damn sin how long this shit takes to get through the system, but I'm at least glad that it sounds like you have lots of options, and are enjoying yourself in the meantime! The handbike sounds pretty amazing! Don't believe I've seen one like that IRL, but you'd have a lot of mobility with it and I'm sure it would help with exploring, so I hope you get something similar; sounds like a good match!

It is really stupid to have waiting periods on necessary mobility equipment. Was it your mum who was waiting on something too? My memory is pretty crappy these days, but if it was, I hope things are sorted out now.

I have plans for that handbike. That handbike and I are going places. :D

Psssst. Did you see Taron's interview with Hugh (on the late or late late show I can't remember which is which because late late airs first over here for some reason)? Why is he so adorable and flirty? How is that fair?

It is, yea. If you need it to function, you should have it ASAP. Something needs to be done about that.

And yea, it was my mom, though she can get around without a walker, it's still helpful for her with her condition. She did get one, but she's in the hospital atm. (Behavioral hospital, and I don't know exactly what's going on yet.)

You should have plans for it! Big plans! Put that handbike through its paces!

Haha, I'm not sure I've seen the exact interview you're talking about, but I've definitely seen quite a few with those two. I thought Taron with Colin was ridiculous (in a good way), and yea, he was, but it seems Taron has massive amounts of chemistry with everyone and just enjoys flirting with older men. I obviously approve.

Agreed! I think the NDIS is supposed to be rolled out this year, but as with most government things I think they just gave it a fancy new name and probably added to the amount of paperwork I need to do.

It already has the dog's approval. He fell asleep next to it while I was riding around him to see if he was okay with it. He was 100% fine with me nearly running him over to test how chill he was. Too chill, dude. That is too chill.

He is a very flirty, touchy kind of guy! His eyes are pretty for some reason. Is it his eyelashes? I will have to investigate this further. This and the singing thing.

Okay, that is one excellent dog. I mean, learn some self preservation little fella, but seriously. At least he's loyal and will stay by your side NO MATTER WHAT.

There is so much to be distracted with re: Justified. I miss it and would love to do a rewatch, but have no time atm.

He has nice everything, but there is something very...soft about him. He seems like a sweet dude, with a good sense of humor, and someone who is probably enjoyable to be around. A gentleman, so that might be what appeals to me. Also, he's pretty in general. Nice jaw, friendly eyes, adorable smile. Etc etc. (I have it bad...)
