Brunch!

(Anonymous) 2016-02-27 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Personally, brunch is my favorite meal. I especially love a long, leisurely brunch on a shady outdoor patio, and I usually get mimosas and a veggie omelet or a Louie salad (crab or shrimp).

How about you, do you like brunch? Do you go often? What do you order?

I like the concept but a lot of restaurants I've been to have a really shitty brunch menus. I live near a cafe that serves really good chicken and waffles for brunch though.

Yep, though I like Bonefish Grill's delicious omelettes they only serve on Sundays here.

Considering I tend to wake up at 11...

But the best "brunch" is dim sum/yamcha, hands down.

I like brunch food, but I hate long meals. I've got thinweird dichotomy going on where I love food but I hate spending time eatig it.

I like long, good, extensive breakfasts very much. However a lot of the practical execution of brunch on the contemporary milieu turns me off. In particular, there seems to be a large emphasis on waiting hours for a table, and going to the most places. And it also seems to be frankly one of those things for people who are better looking than me and better dressed than me and intimidatingly cool. So it's not for me.

That's the weirdest interpretation of brunch I've ever seen. The only part that makes sense is the time suck.

It's not very well written generally (i was rushing through three things at once) so I apologize for that. However one particular clarification is that I meant to say that people focus on going to the most popular, crowded places over anything else. Not the most places.

Ahhhh, yeah there does seem to be a subset for whom brunch is more about status than enjoying food wih family/friends, and that's irritating.

Mimosas are the best.

I love breakfast food so I usually eat that. Bonus points if it includes fruit that is not cantaloupe. Mmm...warm pancakes/biscuits/waffles, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, cold water, warm coffee and a fresh-squeezed mimosa. <3

I only get brunch (and mimosas) when I go to Charleston. Which is like two or three times a year right now. :(

I don't really like brunch because I feel like most breakfast foods are overpriced in restaurants and relatively easy to make yourself.

It's ok, makes me sleepy though. I like a large early, breakfast more.
