or are you just incapable of endorsing the importance of a child for a father without making it sexual/romantic?

If that were to be actually true, I'd be very worried for OP and hope they get help.

However, it is probably not actually true.

What it probably is is somebody shipping something despite the fact that it's not intended to be canon. It happens all the time. It's a big part of the reason fandom exists, in fact.

(Full disclosure: I don't watch this show and I don't like incest, especially not parent/child. I just found your response to be kinda weird, like you're surprised people ship something fucked up.)

eh, I'm not worried for them.

I just see that fandom has that problem when they really really like a relationship dynamic but don't know how else to interact with it

95% of fandom is set in their ways of shipping everything. it's a way to get more of a canon aspect one likes, be it a favorite character, a complicated friendship, rivalry, etc, even if gen would actually cater more to the original appeal.

I don't really think 95% of fandom wears shipping goggles when looking at a parent-child relationship. People ship a lot of things but "most" people don't ship very much at all, except a few juggernaut ships. And I think non-romantic relationships are very much appreciated by many people even if they're not blogged about as often.

I just see that fandom has that problem when they really really like a relationship dynamic but don't know how else to interact with it

Do...you think this is something that happens a lot with familial relationships in canon? That they just don't know how to appreciate a parent-child relationship? Do you think it puzzles them? I don't understand this approach at all
