(Anonymous) 2016-02-28 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)I think the feeling of "being different" when you take it out is pretty normal at first. I think I've trained myself to always have my teeth slightly apart in resting position even when I'm away.
Though I can say, I never was totally comfortable with the ones that you boil and mold to your jaw. My local drug store has a much less... intrusive-feeling? style, that's basically just two pads connected around your lower gum, with each pad sitting between your teeth at either side of your jaw. It's more comfortable and easier to keep clean. You might give that a try, I don't know if it'll help with your issue exactly, but who knows?
