Re: Questions/Advice - Should I give up (a bit of suicide tw)

I don't enjoy my major and will likely not work in it after graduation. My health is failing, I don't do work and is dragging others down with me. I know I'm being such an asshole but I just can't muster up the energy. Dropping out would be impossible because my parents pay my intuition and they want me to at least graduate. I tried and get a bit better last semester but it's falling apart very hard right now, I'm seriously contemplating suicide. I feel trapped and hopeless, should I just give up and drop out? The consequences would be a disaster and I have nothing.

I dunno, would you feel better if you dropped out, or took a leave of absence, or is this just brain chemistry fuckery that'd still be beating you up if you won the lotto/found out you were a superhero/your celebrity crush showed up at your door to propose? Like, if it'd help to drop out, then go talk to your school guidance counsellor. Actually, maybe do that anyway, or a shrink if you've got one. Maybe you could take a semester off. If it won't make you feel better to drop out, then don't. I hope your depression fucks off and leaves you alone. Good luck.

I was there at one point. I found college really stressful. I put off withdrawing until the last minute, which was probably bad. I was actually advised by a counseler to quit or at least take a break a few months before, because I was breaking into tears.

I never went back, and honestly, maybe that's OK.
