I've only tried their earlier games, The Elevator and Ristorante Amore, when those came out, and I only finished The Elevator. I don't recall either being particularly smarmy, but I think I felt the writing didn't quite match up to the ambitions at the time (though there was still potential). Are there any examples you're thinking of in their games, OP?

"Something" is the beard and hood, OP. And, yeah, any fight scenes probably won't be like watching Sir Alec wave a flashlight around, but it won't be great, either.

But I watched a Hamill-hosted show about Kendo, and I guess he actually studied it for Empire and Jedi. Maybe it's like riding a bike and he'll have an easier time stepping into the role than expected.

Sometimes a canon, while good in the broad strokes or potential department lets you down and fic does a better job of it. (Whatever 'it' is, usually emotional interaction between characters.) It happens. And when a readers tells a writer they got it right, it's a compliment to be treasured, not an insult to be treated with disdain.

On the one hand, I get this. On the other hand, I for one actually really liked Ronan. And even though we only got one movie of him, I find him more interesting than Loki. Thanos and Ronan are my favorite MCU villains.

I don't think Winter Soldier counts as a villain since he was brainwashed and forced into it and the narrative of the movies is clearly about saving him.

Oh, and I'll also add that Nebula was also really interesting and I'm excited she's back for Guardians 2.
