Re: Dreaming Again
The cave is so dark that I can’t even see the bats that are flying over my head. The floorboards creak beneath me as I trudge through the gloom. Out of nowhere, I get the overwhelming sense that something or someone is after me. The hair on the back of my neck stands on end, and I start running full tilt, not even knowing if I’m heading towards an exit.
When I finally make it outside, I see that I was not in a cave at all, but in an old, abandoned house. It's a stark, grey splotch on a wide prairie. I am still running. I run across the huge grassy plain that surrounds the whole outside of the house for as far as I can see when I hear a noise that sounds like a thousand windows and wooden beams breaking at the same time. I turn around again, this time in horror as a giant black winged creature bursts out the top storey of the house. It lets out a shriek that almost makes me faint.
My feet pound against the mud and grasses even harder than before as I hear it's wings beating the air with a heavy whooshing sound. The distance between me and my car lengthens by what five football fields every time I get remotely close. My chest heaves as the beast gains on me. I feel its breath on my neck just as I drop my car keys in the grass.
The world tilts and flips on its side, and I’m back at the creepy house again, but this time I’m with a group of my friends. With company and armed with flashlights this time, I don’t feel so afraid. We explore the old rooms and peek under the canvases that cover the furniture. I pull a moth eaten tarp off of an ornate, floor length mirror and peer into it.
Suddenly, a man I don’t recognize stands behind in the reflection. I scream.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-03 01:04 am (UTC)(link)that was cool! I haven't had any dreams I can remember in the past little bit, but I'll let you know if I do.
