Describe an AU fic set in a stereotypical US high school, from the POV of a non-American who is getting everything wrong.

OMG this is amazing.

Maybe all the characters are like in the Breakfast Club, but also everyone brings guns to school all the time and there are Mean Girls.

So like Heathers?

Heh, you know, I've never actually seen that. Need to get around to it one of these days.

Half the school is scarily rich. Everybody has their own car. They spend a lot of time cruising around in the cars instead of studying. They also spend a lot of time doing sports instead of studying.
The school is divided into cliques with feuds just a bit more dramatic than the Monague/Capulet one. Two people from two different cliques fall in love, and have to overcome stupid drama and jealousy. There is a dramatic makeover.
Then everybody goes to the prom and has sex.

and there's at least one guy from the 50s with a motorcycle

i can't think of anything further from the truth of american highs school than the way movies and tv like to portray it

the only portrayal of US high schools in pop culture that is even less realistic is Archie comics.

"Harry help me i need a date to the prom," said Ron nervously because he did not have a date to this year's prom and feared ostracism if it got out that he was not having lots and lots of sex every day as all American 16-year-olds do.

"Sorry Ron i cannot help you on account of i have left our clique and joined the jocks" said harry who was wearing one of those rugby sweaters with a number on the back to show his allegieance to the jock clique, which had adopted him as their own after he gave unpopular girl luna a makeover. ron and hermione were still a cardcarrying members of the nerd clique and had to wait a whole month before they could register to join the jocks and cheerleaders respectively, because they had missed this month's deadline.

"well gosh," said ron sadly, i guess i'll have to go back to plan B and take my sister to the prom" he sad saidly

but unfortunately for ron ginny was already going with draco and needed to be bribed with hot topic coupons to go ron, because she was part of the goth clique. When Draco found out his date dumped him for her brother draco was so pissed off that the next day he came to school with his father's rifle and shot a bunch of people then killed himself.

The End.

Everybody's skinny and has nice clothes and hair even if they're poor. If it's set in California, everybody's a blond vegetarian surfer. There are tons of guns and fights everyday and everybody drives to school instead of walking or taking the bus. You can tell which clique somebody's in based on their clothes and the way they talk and no way would a cheerleader be best friends with a goth or date someone who's not on the football team. Prom and SATs are very big deals and everyone gets into fancy private colleges like Harvard or Princeton. Nobody goes to community college or fails to get into their dream school.
