I really want the remake to attract more fans.

But the current fandom is really intense.

There are so few of us. We're becoming an echo chamber. I think new fans will be put off by our close-knit community. I think they'll see us as a clique.

I absolutely despise the 'Pretend Relationship' trope, and cannot fathom why it is so popular in fandom and as a plot device. But I would give anything to see them have to pretend to be a couple on the show (and for them to be very good at it).

A friend should be able to accept that we can't always all like the same things. If they're one of those forceful people that keeps trying to pressure you into something (perhaps not realizing they're being as pushy as they are), call them on it, as gently as possible, as many times as you can. Or even in a joking way. Friendship can survive not shipping the same things, if you don't find them disgusting for what they ship (even though you don't like it), and they don't keep pushing it at you, that you have to like it too.

I can't believe how both the fans and writers of PLL treat Emison like it's actually a plausible relationship option. People can ship whatever they want, but Alison has never done anything but use and manipulate Emily and I wish people would acknowledge that somehow. Then again, we are talking about a show that redeemed a predatory stalker teacher and fans who ate that right up, so I shouldn't really expect anything from either.
