I don't like it when people lump in "I can't ship this character with anyone" with "It's easy to see the character as asexual" unless the latter is really cause for the former. There isn't an asexual disposition outside of being asexual.

I was thinking the same thing. You can refrain from shipping a character with anybody without seeing them as asexual - nothing says you HAVE to ship everybody!

Oh, no, I didn't mean it to come off that way! I totally get where you're coming from though, and I should've made it more clear that I don't do this with any character I can't ship people with - the headcanon just makes sense for Kylo Ren for me. I like several other characters in other media that I don't ship with anyone but I can see as straight/gay/pansexual/what have you, and I definitely agree with you that not shipping does NOT equal asexual.

(I'm asexual myself, but while I do tend to lean towards asexual headcanons, I only really do so if they make sense in context. Like, I wouldn't say a character who isn't shown in romantic relationships means they're asexual at all, I tend to look for other things beyond that.)
