I was thinking the same thing. You can refrain from shipping a character with anybody without seeing them as asexual - nothing says you HAVE to ship everybody!

Oh, no, I didn't mean it to come off that way! I totally get where you're coming from though, and I should've made it more clear that I don't do this with any character I can't ship people with - the headcanon just makes sense for Kylo Ren for me. I like several other characters in other media that I don't ship with anyone but I can see as straight/gay/pansexual/what have you, and I definitely agree with you that not shipping does NOT equal asexual.

(I'm asexual myself, but while I do tend to lean towards asexual headcanons, I only really do so if they make sense in context. Like, I wouldn't say a character who isn't shown in romantic relationships means they're asexual at all, I tend to look for other things beyond that.)
