Given the popularity of Marvel films and Loki as a villain, it's not a stretch to think that some marketing person went, "Hey, if we colorize this in green/black it looks like this successful character from this successful movie!" Hiddleston is the biggest name in Crimson Peak, they'd be fools not to try and use that to their advantage.
Yeah, it sounds nuts, but this is how marketing works. Remember the iconic cover for Twilight? After its success, there was a flood of similarly designed books on the market in black/red/white, some even repeating the "object held in two hands" layout:

It's not delusional. You just haven't noticed the similarities, or you're so used to it that it's "invisible" to you.
